Our on-again off-again Pistons once again unfortunately took the wrong night off. Maybe they were too interested in what was going on downtown, watching the Wings and Tigers. Or maybe they were getting ready for day two of Movement. Or maybe they’re just so used to showing up whenever they feel, that this is normal to them.
Whatever the case, they lost to the Celtics 94-80 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score suggests. Billups is obviously not himself, his shooting makes it clear that his hamstring is bothering him . . . how else could you account for a disintered, six-point performance in the conference finals? And it wasn’t just Billups, but the entire team . . . excluding Rip, who had 26 points.
We’ll see what happens on Monday night. I’m sure the Pistons will play better. How could they not?
