The Pistons today announced what had come to be expected by many, that guard Allen Iverson would remain out for the rest of the 2008-2009 season because of his sore back.
Iverson, acquired from the Denver Nuggets for Chauncey Billups, Cheikh Samb and Antonio McDyess on Nov. 3, 2008, has rarely exceeded expectations in his time with the Pistons.
Should the seventh-and-dropping-fast-seeded Pistons make the playoffs, Iverson’s status will be reevaluated.
