The Wings have mowed over and outplayed the Penguins in every facet of the game. So far, the series has been all Wings and the hockey gods in Gary Bettman’s office must not be very happy with their dream matchup right now. Last night’s 3-0 win showed that the Wings are serious, that they do not want to let the Penguins back into this series.
Now, we all know how quickly that can change (remember the Dallas series). Wednesday night will tell us if there is any gas left in the Penguins’ tank.
The Pistons blew out the Celtics after taking charge early. Credit goes to Antonio McDyess, who is clearly recognizing this as his last best chance at an NBA title. I think the same goes for the rest of the Pistons, who are getting a bit long in the tooth for their on-again, off-again, goin’ to work ethic. Chauncey Billups does not look like himself and in the end, that might prove to be the undoing of this team.
How do you do, you ask? Two major games on at the same time? Tivo? Nope. VCR? Nope. Picture in picture? Nope. I credit my 1988 trip to Graceland, where Elvis’ Safari Room inspired me to line up the TVs in the house, side-by-side, so that nothing is missed.
More on the TIgers later today.
