Wings lose after being 35 seconds from the Cup

This was one to tell your grandkids about. Wings down 2-0, come back to 3-2 lead and with less than a minute to go, the other team ties it up. After two unnecessary penalties in the fourth and fifth periods, the Penguins score on a power play in the sixth period, a double minor on Jiri Hudler for high sticking.

The officiating in this series has been terrible, but to allow for two phantom calls in overtime and then to have players looking forward to blood (Scuderi: “I looked down and was hoping for blood.”) does not seem like the right way to play the Stanley Cup finals.

Here’s hoping for a better outcome in game six. Go Wings!
